What an event! Looks like an awesome location for an African folk music event... looks natural and "at home"!

Again, magnificent fill-flash... Great framing... great moment...

I wish I could be as good!!!

Great picture. I remember seeing it at acp conference last yeara. The blood drive photo below it was great to see. Just a reminder that you are human.

Yeah the associated college press conference in san francisco last year. Lots of great photographers were there. Blew anything I've seen in the midwest papers away.

yeah i thought about it today when i was on the bus home. it was so random but i thought of how some people have an amazing eye for the abstract, artistic and creative in the boring and mundane occurrences of real life. Making music happens every second of everyday, but capturing it the way you did brings a whole new level and dimension to something so cliche. I really admire people who have an amazing and original point of view. its refreshing. i admire your work.

nice job getting the sun to be an effective element without taking over the picture with flare--hard to do. The contrast is great--it adds to the energy of the shot. well done: fav!

Oh man, this is great. Good job with bringing out the colors. He's like the sunshine himself :D Goes very well along with the flare on the sun. The slight perspective distort and backlight+flash made him look animated as well, emphasizing the fun, happy vibe of this photo.

thanks bud. Its great when you push a flash do get the full power out of it. I'm sure I was making the dude I was shooting at the time a bit mad, cause I was at full power with the flash. And I took more than 1... lol

no i wasnt using a ploarizer on it. The lens is a fisheye lens, you cant have filters on this lens. I was renting it, and the front element had this weird thing on it that you couldnt clean off. And I tried to clean it too.
